Juilliard graduate Karen Linstedt Delavan (MM ’92, accompanying) also earned her bachelor’s in piano performance at the New England Conservatory and was a fellow with the Juilliard Opera Center. Delavan has worked for more than 30 years as a freelance coach and recital accompanist in the New York area and has played many recitals, including at Weill Recital Hall, Alice Tully Hall, Westminster Choir College, and Cairn University. She has been on faculty at Long Island University, the Hartt School of Music, and Seton Hall University, and she had two fall residencies at UT Austin—Butler Opera Center. Delavan has held music staff positions with companies including Santa Fe Opera, Glimmerglass Opera, Sarasota Opera, Boston Lyric Opera, Light Opera of New Jersey, Michigan Opera Theater, and Spoleto Festival USA. Artists she has worked with include Victor DeRenzi, Jane Glover, Ernst Haefliger, George Manahan, James Meena, Joe Rescigno, Stewart Robertson, Emmanuel Villaume, Elly Ameling, Hans Hotter, Martin Isepp, Martin Katz, Marlena Malas, Hermann Prey, Harvey Shapiro, Edward Zambara, Nico Castel, and Julia Faulkner. Delavan resides in New Jersey.
